Last night I went out to dinner with some pals and friends know when they go out to dinner with me I’m the guy who’s gonna want to order dessert if it’s a big night out You know, I’m the dessert guy and we got the dessert menu And I thought there were several things that look good on there, but my pals were like no we don’t want to let’s go to The ice cream place this nearby instead fine.

I got no beef with that plan so we hopped into our two different cars and went to the ice cream place and We got there on 902 p.m.

And then saw it had closed at 9 p.m your Daily Lex And they saw us out there outside the glass window glass door of the the place and saw us looking plaintively and sadly and wishing We could be in there and They caved and let us in then another group came and she’s like, oh my god She unlocks the door again lets them and she being the one behind the counter then another group comes of two people and she Caves again, then she’s serving those people and another person comes up a couple and we’re like, oh boy they’ve been closed now for 15 minutes or whatever and They look and the woman inside of the counter sees them and she gives them a look like are you effing kidding me?

Like there’s no better way to describe the look on this woman’s face behind the counter Then are you effing kidding me?

And we kind of laughed and those people took that look to mean no get bent.

We’re done So they left again and then after the woman behind the counter is finished serving the people who she had You know the third group that she had let in she went and she’s like where those people go I’m like, yeah They left and then we talked to this woman about ice cream and how she’s moving to Texas and she’s gonna work in a different Ice cream store there.

I don’t know but it was nice to be let in I ordered the two peanut butter flavors they had on the menu because that’s how I roll But I was thinking about customer service Had a lot of good customer service experiences recently and I feel like we don’t talk about the good ones often enough In fact when we went to dinner last night, we wanted an outside table My buddy Andy had reserved an inside table because he’s a fool you fool Andy.

I’m just kidding.

He’s not a fool He listens.

That’s why I said that But so he asked for an outside table and they hooked us up and then they checked and made sure we were okay with the outside table, which they had added chair to to fit all five of us whenever it was fine, and they were very kind to it and That got me thinking about another recent customer service experience I had I’m a T-Mobile customer T-Mobile on Tuesdays gives out coupons discounts, whatever Sometimes it’s like hey get a free thing if you come into a T-Mobile store Which I’m not gonna do to get like T-Mobile branded mug But other times is like hey, here’s three dollars off Dunkin Donuts and we’ll always take three dollars left on your doughnuts Come on as I record this is actually free donut and drink date Dunkin Donuts But I am not interested enough to go there today.

I don’t want to donut.

It’s fine.

Anywho a Couple days ago T-Mobile that was a long pause Hey, I could edit that pause out, but you should know how to gather my thoughts a couple days ago I’m not this most recent Tuesday, but the one before that The deal was something like 30% off Crocs.

I like Crocs.

I don’t know everybody likes Crocs, but I like Crocs And if you don’t like Croc, that’s a Croc.

Anyway, so there was a Deal, I think a 30% off Croc So I looked around and ordered a pair of Crocs use that 30% off gift card and then you get the notification I like the companies that don’t just you know, get your shipping notification, but like they said hey It’s out for delivery today and get ready your comfort is coming or whatever And then I got the email from Crocs say hey congrats your Crocs were delivered there were no Crocs my friends no Crocs and I I waited an extra day or two and was delivered by the US Postal Service Sometimes if it’s UPS and they take it to USPS for the last mile there can be an extra delay But no such luck.

It was all a USPS deal.

No Crocs and I contacted Crocs and I was like, I don’t have it They’re like, yeah, you do what I’m like, I don’t and they’re like, well, you have to contact us again in 48 hours I’m like, well, it’s been 48 hours and they said no no It has to be 48 hours from when you first contact us.

I’m like, so if I contacted you yesterday I’d have to wait for 48 hours from yesterday.

Yep Fine, so I waited a few days and I contacted them again and they’re like, hey Let’s just expert.

Do you want a refund or do you want to replace me?

I want the Crocs and so they said we’re gonna expedite a replacement Which I got a UPS notification should arrive soon this time is via UPS so I feel a little bit more confident Now I should mention this.

I’m not gonna say my address here on the podcast But I’m gonna use my old childhood address as as an example.

Let’s say I live at one Cardinal place in Manalapan, I don’t but so there’s a one Cardinal place in Manalapan and then there’s also a one Cardinal place in Morganville Which is a neighboring town same street address different town every once in a while We’ll get a meal delivered to our house that’s been for them Even more rarely we’ll get a package for them and the same is also true in reverse They’ll sometimes get stuff for us But when that happens we each write to each other to say hey We got a package for you or did you order this food or whatever?

They didn’t write to us so I think I guess it’s not that today They wrote to us and said hey we were away, but we had a baggage for you.

It’s Crocs So now my question is what do I do I?

I contacted Crocs.

It was like hey This is what happened was delivered to a different address And I just heard from those people and I’m going to be able to pick that one up You’ve already UPS me one.

What do you want me to do and they said you can keep it or donate it so Yeah, I guess I’ll keep it back up here Crocs.

I guess I could donate Crocs, but do people need Crocs Is that a thing that people I guess I don’t know what do you think I should do?

Also, thanks to the many of you who suggested that I should still think about getting a mini split and that the outside part They can I don’t know that doesn’t have to go right outside the front that I could have it be put somewhere else So I’m looking into it.

I’m getting a quote on Monday.

It’s going to be expensive.
