Listen, I think that this show just dwells in the meta and self-referentialness of the show, sometimes to a fault, but there weren’t enough Your Daily Lexus last week.

It was intermittent.

My buddy Dan pointed that out because I skipped Wednesday accidentally and talked about it Thursday and then didn’t do Friday.

And when Dan had written to me about it, I’m like, listen, the reality is that sometimes it feels like I’m just, I have too much going on or there’s too much stress or too many things happening.

It would be a chore to do it.

You never want me to do the show when it’s a chore.

But I still don’t feel good about having a three-episode week on a normal week, a non-three-day weekend week.

That’s bad.

So I apologize.

But we’re back.

We’re, I can’t say better than ever, but we’re as good as ever.

And boy, do we have topics.

Your Daily Lex.

It was a busy weekend.

Lauren and Sierra had their production of The Music Man, which we saw the Sunday matinee for.

And then we had a comedy sports match on Saturday night.

And so first was the debate, because with Lauren and Sierra doing a show and my having a improv workshop and then a comedy sports match, what do you do with Liam, the fourth person at home with Ani at camp?

Ani was not a concern in this regard.

But so I would leave the house around 2.15 and not come back until around 10 or 10.30.

And Lauren and Sierra were already gone.

And Liam can certainly handle being alone.

He can handle getting himself dinner.

He can, you know, handle the house, the pets, whatever.

But I felt like that was a lot of time for him to be by himself.

And even though Minecraft would be a fine babysitter, I was like, Liam, why don’t you come with me?

Liam did not love this idea because he was like, man, but that means I have to be at the theater with you for all those hours between two something and ten something.

Like, yeah, but I like that better.

At least we got some together time.

And he’s like, can’t you pick me up after your rehearsal and before the show and take me just for the show?

But there, that becomes a timing problem because rehearsal ends at five and call time for the performers is 6.30.

And it’s about 35 minutes to get home.

So yeah, I could drive home for 35 minutes, grab Liam and go back for 35 minutes and have somewhere in there, you know, maybe 15 minutes or so to eat.

But I was like, no, if you come, then you can, you know, have some fun hanging out, watching us rehearse.

You can still have your phone, your iPad, your, your Nintendo switch, whatever.

But this way you’re not alone.

And then we can have a more leisurely dinner together.

And he begrudgingly agreed.

Luckily, dinner was really good.

And we also played some iPhone chess during dinner, which only enhanced the experience for him and for me.

And then he enjoyed the match too, and even gave his first suggestion.

Liam doesn’t love calling out suggestions at an improv match, but he, he was coaxed to do so at the most recent comedy sports match, which was fun.

Also I have to say, and many of you, not all of you, but many of you know this, boy, did I sleep on Mrs.

Davis.

I heard people talking about Mrs.

Davis.

I didn’t know what Mrs.

Davis was.

It’s a TV show on Peacock, by the way, if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

And I started it this weekend and boy, that’s a great show.

I am thoroughly enjoying Mrs.

Davis and wish I had started it sooner because I still don’t know what happens.

And I’m trying not to like mainline it too fast because I want to give it some time, but that is a great show.

If you don’t have Peacock and you like TV at all, I would say it’s probably worth getting a Peacock trial if nothing else, just so you can binge Mrs.

Davis because wow, that’s a great show.

All right.

So those are my, my core topics.

You know what I haven’t done in a long time.

I haven’t checked my, my, my note on my iPhone, I guess it’s also my Mac of all my Your Daily Likes topics because I’ve had so much going on that I didn’t have to check that list.

I had so many things just to talk about live, but now I’ve caught you up on all the things I had in my mind and I’m only three minutes and 40 seconds into the episode.

Some of these are from so long ago that I don’t even remember what the hell they are.

So I can’t tell you about them.

But I do see a note here that talks about Nostalgia Tech.

So when the Palm Pilot came out, I had other notes there so I know what I’m talking about.

When the Palm Pilot came out, I didn’t get a Palm Pilot.

I was in college age, I guess, but I did eventually in college get a Handspring Visor.

And if you recall those, which you very well may not, they had Palm Pilot open source their OS or at least they licensed the OS, I guess is more likely to other vendors.

And so Handspring was made by some ex-Palm Pilot people and I loved my Handspring Visor.

I’ve always loved having a digital calendar that’s always with me, but that thing was cool.

I eventually had a weird cellular modem for it that sucked.

I had a weird MP3 cartridge thing where you could sync MP3s onto it, like 12 of them, but I can only do that on my buddy’s Windows computer because it didn’t work on the Mac.

Story of our lives back then.

But the coolest accessory I had for the Handspring Visor was a keyboard that was also roughly the size of the Handspring Visor when you folded it up.

And then you could expand this thing and it would pop out like weird, almost like a pop-up book slash accordion thing.

It would unfold.

You’d have a full-size keyboard.

You could slide the visor into it and I could take notes on that in all my classes.

People would always ask about it, which wasn’t the goal.

It wasn’t like, hey, look at me and my cool tech.

But it was at the time surprising and eye-catching because you went from having two Palm Pilot sized things to having what looked like sort of, not exactly a laptop, but like clearly a full-size keyboard.

Man, that thing was great.

I miss that thing.

I wish I still had my Handspring Visor and the keyboard, but not, I don’t miss it so much that I’d go and buy used ones.

But anyway, that was from my list, so we’ve always got things happening.

Anyway, five episodes this week or bust, who knows which it’ll be.

Happy Monday.

Talk soon.
