In the ongoing saga of my older two kids in the bus, they fired the bus driver.

That’s because yesterday, when he was supposed to be taking the kids home from school, he, instead of going from the school, went to, sorry, instead of going from the school to the houses of the kids, he instead went to his own house and parked the bus, went into his house, found his folder that had, I guess, the addresses where he was supposed to be dropping said kids off, and then got back on the bus.

Many kids videoed this, some FaceTimed their parents while this was happening, my kids shot a video, and so it was several minutes of being locked on a bus, I think with the key still in it, so one kid could have chosen to drive it or somebody could have come into the bus and potentially drove it, whatever, and then started driving the kids home.

By the time he finished his route, he actually didn’t even get to finish that route, I believe, I believe they interrupted him.

They laid him off and apparently took him for drug testing, but I don’t know what happened after that.

So now the kids have had a couple different subs, but the subs seem to be doing fine.

And when I say a couple different subs, one person’s doing the school this morning, a different person’s doing them home.

All good, it’s fine, it’ll be fine.

But hey, the bad bus driver is gone, and that’s what really matters.

You know what else matters?

♪ Your Daily Lex ♪ All right, folks, I just pressed the record button with no further topic, so you know it’s gonna be a good one.

It was Apple event day today, I watched the Apple event, I work for myself, so I’m allowed to block out time to watch the Apple event, and I did precisely that.

And then I podcasted live with Dan and John about the Apple event, which was fun.

We had 100 people tuning into our live podcast, which was fewer people than wanted to watch it, but it was capped at 100.

So sorry to those people who didn’t get to listen to our live bloviating about the Apple event.

Of course, if you subscribe to Rebound Prime, you can listen to the bootleg right now.

It was a fine Apple event as these things go.

I didn’t like their weird sketch with Octavia Spencer, because I didn’t think it was funny enough.

If you’re gonna go for funny, it’s gotta be really funny.

Otherwise, don’t make it funny.

Thus, don’t make it a sketch.

But at any rate, I’m debating what phone to get, but I think I’m going to, I think I’m gonna go to a Max.

I think I’m gonna upgrade from the iPhone Pro to the iPhone Pro Max.

I’m not 100% sold on this, because it is a significantly bigger phone, and I have to get on board with having a significantly bigger phone again.

It’s been a while since I had the giant ones, but I’m excited about that 5X zoom.

I like a year with that 5X zoom.

I go to concerts, I go see my kids in shows, whatever.

I like that ability to have an optical zoom.

But then my pal Ben McCarthy was posting on Mastodon saying that they think that some people are gonna not like that 5X zoom, because it’s gonna be too close or too difficult to use when you compare it to what kind of camera lens, like on a real camera.

It would be equivalent to.

I’m not good enough or smart enough about photography to fully understand Ben, but I did text Ben, they were telling me more about what their point was.

But I don’t know, I’m still excited about 5X.

I shoot most of my photos at one or two, even though my phone also supports three.

And then I end up using the crappy digital zoom when I have something that’s far away to shoot.

I like the idea of having a 5X optical zoom, so it’s less crappy than digital zoom.

So anyway, we’ll see.

I think I’m gonna get that giant phone.

It works out to about $48 more per year for me for I’m assuming the one year I’ll have it.

It’s not terrible, it’s not great, it’s not terrible.

So that’s what I’m leaning towards.

I do like the new Apple watches.

I’m not gonna get a new Apple watch.

My Apple watch clearly has another year of life left, maybe two.

The battery has just started to get a little bit shakier.

Like I get some low power warning sometimes, depending on what I’m doing that day.

Like if I’m doing a lot of stuff that my watch is aware of, the battery, it’s still surviving.

It’s still working with me from day till night, but with a little less pizzazz than it once did.

Let’s see, I tell you guys about my auditions, which is hilarious, because people hate talking about their auditions.

But I did my Adam’s family audition, which went well.

I was very pleased with how that went.

I did even okay at dancing.

I didn’t embarrass myself at dancing, which is the number one thing I wanna do.

Actually, my number one thing that I wanna do in a dance audition is have the people who know me in the dance audition, who are on the casting side, be like, oh, he didn’t do as poorly as I thought, or he did better than I expected.

That’s all I’m going for.

I’m not going for great.

I’m going for better than expected.

I can learn to dance.

I really can.

I can’t learn to super advanced dance.

I can learn to dance, but I need time.

The challenge with dance auditions is they teach you a dance and then say do it right away.

And that’s not how I work for dance.

It’s kind of funny to me that that’s how stuff works because when you’re singing, they tell you ahead of time, prepare your song.

I wish they would post the choreography so I could work on it a bit, but that’s not how it works in most dance auditions.

It does work that way in some, but not mine.

Anyway, and I have an audition tomorrow for Elf the Musical, where I’ll be being extremely goofy while I audition to be Buddy the Elf.

We’ll see how that goes.

I have no idea.

What if I got cast in both parts?

Oh my God, I couldn’t do both parts, but I know which one I’d choose.

But who do you think I’d be better as, Gomez or Buddy?

The world may never know.

I may not get either.

That’s a very, very, very real possibility, so let me be clear.

I could very easily not get either part, but which one would I be better at if I had to choose?

I really don’t know.

Anyway, happy rest of your Tuesday.

And what are you ordering from Apple, if anything?

Lex.
