Had a first today a brand new first of my lifetime I had a thing happen to me that has never happened to me before and it made me mad and angry I don’t mind having a first, but I don’t like I Don’t like this one.

This was a bad first.

So I’m gonna tell you all about it right after this Your Daily Lex I’m still pretty amused that I just said right after this like I was going into a commercial break, but anywho You know, I’m doing my morning routine I’m post shower I’m getting ready I’ve done my shaving my hair is ready.

And now it’s time to put in the contacts.

I you know, I Take out each little contact lens thing because they’re in daily disposable cases peel them open then wash my hands before I’m gonna touch the contact Lenses themselves and put them in my eyes Then I throw away the containers and then I look around I’m like I threw the containers But I didn’t put my contacts in like I threw the containers with my contacts still in them Well, let me take the garbage can cuz maybe they’re still in there and they both landed butterside down like just full trash engorged That’s really disgusting term trash engorged.

Anyway, fully trash engorged contacts.

Let’s say and man.

I was so mad I am still mad and I had to open up new contacts and put in new contacts I wasted a full pair of contacts and I’m already annoyed every time I put in my contacts because I had one bad contact I don’t know a month ago when I opened it up and it was clearly like slightly misshapen So I had to just abandon it.

So I have a different number of lefts and And rights of contacts It’s also but not today just wasted one of each which didn’t help at all if I’d only wasted one to be fine Maybe I’m maybe I could have balanced it out depending on how I waste it But instead I literally threw away contacts instead of putting them in my eyeballs.

That’s uh, That’s a frustrating situation that I’m in so I don’t like it Yeah Boy, I remember hours and hours ago and I recorded the first part of this episode I do Then my day kind of got away from me Here’s a fun thing about being a consultant that I only learned recently Which is now that it’s January I have some clients were like hey We’re reviewing our budgets and we have to cut back on what we’re doing with you.

It’s fine It’s not an indictment of what I’m doing for them.

Many of them are Asking if I can please hold time for them in later months when they finalize their budgets again or whatever.

I’m like, no No, I’m not a jerk about it But I have clients who are going from X hours to month to some number that is less than X hours a month I have nobody who’s leaving which is good But I meant I had to do prospecting and it turns out I’m really good at prospecting I had mentioned to a friend that I was doing prospecting He’s like, I don’t even know what that word means and he was googling and it’s like finding minerals and I’m like, yes I’m finding minerals, but you know, I when I reach out to folks I have a pretty high hit rate of people hearing what I can offer them and then wanting to avail themselves of said offering that’s exactly how I phrase it because I talk like a human and The tricky part is finding companies that I think I can help and that I want to work with But I’m pretty good at that So it’s been okay.

There’s no concerns about the health of Lex Friedman consulting.

It’s just a discovery about how the Cyclical nature of the business will go I guess I just I didn’t realize that that’s what would happen in retrospect makes sense But wasn’t prepared for it Anyway, as you know, we’ve been covering the new songs from the new Liam and Lex album the first two you already heard were for Freddie and cars I Had mentioned yesterday cars was the first part of a three-part trilogy about modes of transportation The second one in that trilogy is planes and this is the first ever Liam and Lex song where Liam wrote all the lyrics.

So I was very proud of him.

I don’t know why I get a credit on this song He said well, I did the mixing and I helped him with ideas.
