A lot of you really liked Steak, I was gonna say Steaky Steak and Beef Beef, it’s just Steak.

That’s why I ended that word so weird.

A lot of you really liked Steak, the song I shared on the last episode of Your Daily Lex, which was a couple days ago.

It was Friday.

Monday was a holiday.

Tuesday, yesterday, I forgot to release an episode.

I was so caught up in other things, in both professional and personal pursuits, that I forgot to share a song.

But many of you wrote to me that you really enjoyed the song Steak by Liam and Lex, which I shared last time.

Anyway, I hope you also enjoy this song by just Lex, not Liam and Lex.

Your Daily Lex.

Boy, we had a lot of snow delays and stuff this week.

So I think on Tuesday, well, Monday night, they said, hey, we’re gonna delay school.

We’re gonna delay it by 90 minutes.

That message came through while I was at a Misery rehearsal.

And we’re doing table work at Misery, meaning we’re really thinking about why are characters saying certain things and what’s going through our heads and how do we react?

And honestly, especially for me, with the exception of a couple of major moments, but for a lot of the show, I have no blocking, right?

My blocking is be in bed.

Then eventually it’s like fall out of bed and crawl around and try to escape.

And then it’s some wheelchair stuff.

And then it’s the ending, which I won’t spoil in case you’re going to see it and you don’t remember it, but some real, some real physical stuff.

But yeah, anyway, we were said at that rehearsal, hey, let’s leave this rehearsal early if it starts snowing.

And we had a good view of the windows to the outside and we saw it wasn’t snowing.

And then rehearsal ended and we saw, oh, it’s been snowing for a long time.

We had noticed like something about our angle and the way the lighting was outside meant that the four of us have rehearsal, two actors, a production manager and a director did not see that.

In fact, it had been snowing a ton.

So a drive that could take 35 minutes or so to get home took me about an hour to get home because it was very snowy and very occasionally, you know, not that many cars on the road, which made sense.

And occasionally you’d see, you know, the cars I did see were also going slow like me.

And then from time to time you get somebody who’s roaring by.

And once I saw somebody really start to fishtail and with some craziness and they eventually recovered.

But like, I don’t understand people being stupid.

I was going very cautiously and it just drew for one second.

At one point when I was making a turn, my car was like, hey, I’m not sure I want to go this way.

And I was like, no, no, you do.

And it was fine.

I was not in any way concerned.

But watching that guy freak out on the highway was no fun.

So I get home and it’s a 90 minute delay and the kids are like, oh, I wonder if they’re going to cancel it.

I wish I didn’t have to set an alarm at all, but they didn’t cancel it.

So the kids go to bed and in the morning I have, I’ve already set my, we don’t have a home phone anymore.

Our home phone rings to an internet phone number that sends me a voicemail that sends me an email with a voicemail attached.

And I had added Sierra to it because sometimes Sierra, well, every time Sierra wakes up before we do.

And that way I was like, you can see if the school has called and left a voicemail and you’ll see it right there.

Like if you see any message, the only thing they could do at this point is cancel it.

And so Sierra wakes up at, I guess 90 minutes after her normal time.

So around the six 40, uh, and she’s like, uh, she sees the email that indeed school is canceled.

Uh, and, uh, there’s a voicemail for Liam as well.

And so I wake up at my set alarm time and see these texts from Sierra celebrating the school’s been canceled and asking, should I do something with, uh, daddy’s alarm?

That’s mine.

Uh, asking, uh, Ani about this or, uh, should I do anything with Liam’s alarm?

And Ani’s advice was no, don’t touch their alarms because you’ll probably just wake them up if you go in there.

But I was like, Hey, Liam doesn’t have to wake up for school now.

So I sneak into Liam’s room and I turn off his alarm on his iPhone, which honestly is a little bit annoying because Liam uses the like wake up sleep feature versus the regular alarms.

And it’s a bigger pain to turn off those alarms.

Uh, but then I’m like, how do I, he sets two alarms.

Liam is a sleepy boy.

He sets two alarms.

So how do I turn off his echo alarm without talking?

Normally I can do it within the app, but I didn’t see the alarm within the app, but I knew it was set everyone.

So I, for some reason it doesn’t show up in the Amazon app, uh, probably cause Amazon is stupid.

So how can I get his echo alarm off without speaking to his echo?

Uh, and the reason I can’t speak to his echo is because the white noise app that Liam uses on his echo is so loud.

I’m sorry.

It’s so quiet that he has to turn the echo up really loud, uh, to make the white noise be loud, but that makes everything else on the echo obscenely loud.

So if I were to speak to it by name, it’s little confirmation beep of I’m listening that Sonos echo devices use, uh, would be deafeningly loud and probably wake him up.

So, uh, instead I unplugged it and, uh, left him a note, uh, and he then slept until 1130 yesterday.

Uh, and then today they had 90 minutes delays again, which was very exciting and came in just before bedtime.

So everybody got slightly extended bedtimes.

Uh, so all in all, my kids haven’t had a normal school day in a while and now, uh, they still have it.

Maybe tomorrow, uh, tomorrow will be Thursday.

It won’t yet be the weekend.

Uh, but the next song I’m going to share a snippet of from, uh, the Liam and Lex album, the world wasn’t ready is called it’s the weekend music by Liam lyrics by me.

It’s the celebration of the weekend.

Uh, and here’s a clip happy Wednesday.

It’s the weekend.

Why don’t we stay up late, you know, a sleepover.

That could be pretty great.

Tonight’s no time for bedtime.

So please let me stay up really.

I can sleep in our morning is free.

So late nights.

OK, let’s play some games and watch a movie and have a midnight snack today.

It’s the weekend.

Why don’t we stay up late?

Lex.
