Sometimes podcast recordings are lost forever, but other times they’re not and this one has not been lost I have lost no episodes of your daily Lex today.

I can’t say that for every podcast.

I’m on though your Daily Lex It happens to every podcast at some point, but we did lose an episode of the rebound today and and hilariously and really very delightfully to me my two co-hosts Dan and John and I we got back on a call and Did a bridge version of the episode by going through all of our title suggestions because we keep track of title potential I title ideas while we’re recording the episode and we use those to reconstruct what the episode would have been about and did the most abridged tight version of the episode that we could and I think that’s really funny and Yeah, no harm.

No foul Still very much in love with the Rivian boy Talking about that new Rivian got me a lot of messages from folks who were curious about my review and do I like it?

And again, I’m only a few days in But I really like it like I’m I’m disappointed that tonight I don’t have rehearsal because I wanted to go on another big drive with it because it’s 40 minutes each way to the theater and back and Yeah, I don’t have any big drives today.

I don’t think I drove anywhere though I did I drove two kids to the bus stop today, but that was it The bus stop is less than 30 seconds from my garage I’m getting really good at pulling it into the garage I no longer need to fold in the mirrors when I pull into the garage, which is good Because that had been a problem for me or the first couple times I was doing that It is very as I think I mentioned yesterday It’s very concerning to pull into the garage still because the car is very concerned and is sending all of its warning beeps And you know, it does that that overhead view where it shows you what looks like an overhead camera view of your car that’s really just amalgamating images from all the different cameras around the car and That that has two scary factors down one is today.

I hadn’t fully closed one of the car doors Liam later had the same problem So I’ve now learned that these doors need a little bit of extra room for when you close them when you haven’t closed the door 100% that overhead view shows the door is wide open.

That’s because all notices the door isn’t closed And so it’s right to show you hey that door is wide open Even though it doesn’t know if the door is wide open.

It just knows that it’s not closed So it looked like I was gonna bash that door into my garage, which I was not at any risk of doing The other thing that’s scary is especially when I’m pulling out of the garage Just the way those cameras work in the way that I don’t know Maybe the word parallax is involved Who knows but something about the optical effect or the visual effect of what happens as you reverse out of the garage?

Makes it look like the garage walls are slowly Converging on you and that you’re about to get crushed to death or that your car is about to get smashed You’re in no risk of doing so and it’s very clear from your eyeballs looking through the windshield that you’re just fine but there’s just one weird trick of the Cameras and the lenses and the angles as you pull out of the garage that makes it look insane for a brief moment But yeah, really so all the people looking for reviews.

It’s it’s a really it’s a great car lots of very weird storage compartments Like there’s a storage compartment underneath the driver’s seat and underneath the front passenger seat that like folds forward And it’s about big enough to hold a phone or sunglasses or a wallet, but not anything else It’s like hey, we could put a little space here.

Let’s do that And so they did but there’s really no use in having that spot, but there it is anyway Those are my random car and random podcast updates I recorded this episode while the entire time expecting to get interrupted by a call that’s about to come in Oh here it comes right now.

So let me pause All right I took that call no time has lapsed for you but plenty of time has lapsed for me and I actually have to go I have to deal with some food that’s in the Oven because I got texted about it while I was on a work call saying I had to take that food out the oven So I got to go do that.
