Sometimes you just don’t know what to talk about.

Today’s one of those days.

I have no topic in mind So even as I say that some things are coming to mind But I launched this episode and pressed record before I had any idea what the heck I was gonna talk about Your Daily Lex But here is what I am gonna talk about and this might be a minute-long episode I don’t know.

I don’t know how long I’m gonna go.

I didn’t script it like usual I’m gonna talk about holiday cards now.

We’ve already started to get that trickle in you get many cards wishing us a Merry Christmas Which obviously doesn’t offend me at all if you’re mostly planning to send Christmas cards and you choose to include me That’s very kind.

So thank you for your Christmas card, even though I’ll celebrate Christmas.

That’s fine We don’t send out happy Hanukkah cards though, because that feels jerky since most of our recipients don’t necessarily celebrate Hanukkah so what we end up doing is sending happy new year cards and You know some folks do the thing where they’ve got multiple photos sometimes it’s photos and a note Or photos in a lengthier note We typically do a single photo.

This is happy new year and there’s often debate Between me and Lauren over what font to use and what the exact message should be and even in what order the names should appear Lauren thinks of us as Lauren and Lex and I think of us as Lex and Lauren.

I guess that’s just human nature I think Lex and Lauren it sounds better.

Whatever the audio version of aesthetically is.

I think it’s more pleasing to the ear What do I know?

But anyway, we do have a holiday card going out again this year now many of the services that you can order those cards from Offer an upsell where they can send them for you.

You give them a list of addresses and they handle the mailing and shipping But they do this more of course for more than the cost of the postage, you know, I guess the label printing I Think it’s worth it.

I think it’s a nice little perk a benefit to have them ship it for you.

Lauren does not so we don’t Lauren hails for printing of the labels from this massive Google Doc that we’ve maintained for years and then we tag team the Adhesing of the labels and of the stamps and it’s the ceiling that really sucks.

I hate sealing the envelopes Typically, it is not a saliva based process, but rather like a wet sponge or wet paper towel process And it takes much time and I feel like that time could better be spent.

I don’t know watching TV staring at the Sun Inventing new words for Scrabble.

I don’t know but It’s fine.

We do save some amount of dollars per thing.

I don’t know what the markup is on that stuff It’s probably about a dollar a dollar fifty somewhere in that range and I agree.

That’s a that’s an exorbitant cost But I don’t know.

It’s just so annoying.

So now, you know, I think it’s annoying What else my kid keeps getting into colleges and these colleges keep on offering nice things, which is fun we still haven’t heard from our our top choice yet, but that’s We knew we wouldn’t hear from them until probably January so that’s fine The top choice for those of you wondering is Emerson but with some of the other schools that we already have acceptances to there’s a question of Well, some of them we haven’t seen basically like Adelphi Which is offered on the a ton of money and has a great writing program and now he wants to major in writing It’s probably worth looking at But I also know that as we get these different scholarship offers, we can potentially use them as negotiating Tools and I’m kind of looking forward to that part Like let’s say top choice doesn’t offer as much money as second choice I’m told that in 2024 you can go to top choice and say hey second choice offered as this much money don’t you want to match that and Ani’s You know college freshman friends have reported that they had success doing exactly that so I’m kind of excited to see if that works So yeah Anyway, I think that’s all my updates for my topic list Thursday.

That’d be different Tomorrow I go to Richmond, Virginia to do improv for a couple days.

I have two shows in one night and Yeah, it’s it’s easy and hard to be nervous About an improv show easy because you have no idea what’s gonna be But you also don’t have to be the nervous man because like it’s just gonna be whatever it is.
