Today, two examples of receiving bad news that were also good news.

That was also good news.

I’m struggling with this full open and I should just start over, but I refuse.

Today’s episode, I’m going to cover two stories where it seemed like it was good news, but it was kind of also bad news at the same time.

Anyway, here we go.

Could my voice have gotten higher just now?

Probably.

Here’s the first piece of good news.

They came to do the driveway.

You know, it’s been gravel, rock and dirt for several weeks, which they said it was going to be about five weeks of that before they would come and pave it.

And they called yesterday and said, we’re going to come pave it today, which indeed they did.

Then afterwards, they gave me instructions.

I’m supposed to water it twice a day, which cracks me up.

Water twice a day for 10 days to keep it cool.

And, you know, you can walk on it, but don’t drive on it.

Don’t drive on it for those same 10 days.

That’s the bad news part.

Plus the $5,000 balance I had.

But the not driving on it for 10 days is mostly fine, except for the fact that we drive electric cars and have to charge them.

And on Saturday, have to drive far away to camp to pick up our kids.

And so I’m going to have to go charge somewhere else before we start that drive in earnest because, you know, I want a full charge.

And I can’t pull into my driveway to charge because they told me not to drive on it for 10 days.

So that was the bad news part.

Then the other fun, exciting piece of good news was Lauren came by and was like, hey, I have Liam on the phone.

And that’s exciting.

Liam’s at camp.

Why is he on the phone?

And then as soon as she said it and my brain processed, I was like, oh, this can’t be for a good reason.

And at the time he was getting ready to go to urgent care, having fallen off a human pyramid two days ago.

And his arm hurt two days ago or his hand hurt or his wrist hurt.

It’s a little unclear.

And the doctor at the infirmary initially had said, I think it’s fine.

And then since it’s still bothering him two days later, said, I think we have to go get an x-ray.

And I think that something’s broken.

So I don’t yet have the results of said x-ray.

But Liam’s hands are his moneymakers.

You know, I’m just saying that kid’s an instrumental piano playing, guitar playing, drum playing, bass playing, saxophone playing genius.

I do not want him dealing with broken bones.

So I’m stressed.

We’ll know by hopefully by the time you hear tomorrow’s episode, we’ll know the deal.

But right now I don’t know the deal.

They were also telling me on the phone.

Yeah, you know, he’s going to be away for a couple hours because the urgent care is anything but urgent here.

And it’s going to take a while.

And he’ll miss dinner, but we’ll take him out to dinner.

That’s what they typically do.

And I was like, I know, because I remember when I had some braces emergency at the same camp a thousand years ago and I missed a meal and they took me out to a meal.

So he’ll be fine.

But I want to know what’s up with my kid’s hand.

Anyway, that’s all I got.

It’s a short episode because I’m a busy man.

I got to go eat dinner really fast before I go to my second rehearsal for A Man of No Importance, having had the first rehearsal yesterday.

First rehearsal yesterday was a read through of the script.

So now I better understand the plot.

And today’s music rehearsal.

I don’t love music rehearsals because we don’t know anything and we have to learn it all.

So good stuff.

You have to start somewhere.

But this is not my favorite rehearsal.

I like like the third music rehearsal once I kind of understand what I’m doing.

Anyway, you’re the best.

Goodbye.

Lex.
