Pipe Drama
I, you know, I still have a very protein heavy diet and I can’t only use natural protein sources because I don’t have enough calories to do that at the protein density I want.
I’m eating around 180 grams of protein a day.
And so I eat a lot of protein supplement foods, including this protein ice cream that I freaking love.
It’s called Fit Creamery.
And it’s a powder and it’s basically a protein shake, but it’s meant to get the texture of ice cream, soft serve ice cream, when you mix it with a bunch of ice and some water.
And I really like the flavor.
I really like the texture.
I find it really filling and it’s shockingly low calorie for what it is.
90 calories for an enormous serving.
And as I’ve been complaining about in various places during this metabolic reversal process that I’m in, where I’m adding calories back into my diet, I’m hungry all the time.
And I find that that Fit Creamery ice cream is nice and filling.
And today I tried a different thing with it where I used the vanilla flavor and I usually add cinnamon to it, which was my pal Brian’s suggestion and is excellent.
But today I was like, what if I added frozen strawberries to it?
Pretty low calorie, a little bit healthy.
It was great.
I had like vanilla strawberry ice cream and it was quite delightful.
And I have no idea why I’m telling you that other than it’s top of mind.
But it was really good.
I just had it and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So if you’re out there and you’re thinking, I’d like a treat, I recommend vanilla ice cream with strawberries in it, I guess.
And I also recommend a theme song.
It’s been weird transitioning from being in the play and having it be the focus of everything to not being in the play.
It gives me way more free time.
I wouldn’t say I’ve done a ton with that free time, but I’ve done some things.
I’m working on a new podcast game show that I expect will launch in February.
I can’t believe it is almost February.
I feel like the year just started.
I know some people say the January felt like it lasted forever, but I also feel like it just started.
I don’t know.
Crazy.
Time flies.
How about that?
It’s also just so cold.
And here in New Jersey, at this moment as I’m speaking, it’s 21 degrees.
We have a low in a couple of days of negative four, negative five, something like that.
Insane.
And we’re not used to it being quite that cold.
And it’s enough that I’m trying to be a little bit protective because I’d rather be overzealous than deal with intense damage.
So we have in my master bathroom, there are two sinks on exterior walls and the kitchen has a sink on an exterior wall.
And I’ve been having us downstairs in the kitchen.
We leave the cabinets open all night so that the heat can get into those cabinets where the piping is for that sink.
And then in the primary bathroom, we can’t do that because the cats would go into those cabinets and that would be incredibly annoying.
So instead, we’re leaving them on slight drips.
And I was looking up like how much water are we wasting if we leave them dripping?
They’re dripping about a drip a second.
We can’t do that in our kitchen sink for various reasons.
It’s just it won’t let us do that.
So hence opening the cabinets instead.
And it’s not very much water to waste, but it, you know, in theory is meant to prevent the pipes from freezing because I really don’t want my pipes to freeze.
Excuse me.
We have frozen pipes explode in the basement once and that was a whole disaster.
I’m sure I talked about it on this very podcast and insurance covered it and it was all fine eventually, but it also sucked.
And I really don’t want that to happen.
It’s possible, like I said, that I’m being overprotective, but I’d much rather be overprotective than have more pipes freeze, particularly in my bathroom or my kitchen.
There’s no good place to have pipes freeze.
So I don’t know why I said particularly those places, but still particularly in those places.
Nonetheless, have you guys heard about quiet tennis?
It’s the same as regular tennis, only there’s no racket.
Hilarious.
So funny, right?
So funny.
My son for Hanukkah had gotten me an Eagles trivia and fun facts calendar.
And it is what was very funny was when I first opened it, I was excited and then I pointed out that it was for the 2024 calendar year.
And Lauren agreed.
And so we got Amazon to replace it, which was nice.
Maybe it was for, I literally don’t know what year it is.
I’m stalling right now to figure out what year it is.
What year is it?
Okay, so it’s now 2026.
So it was a 2025 calendar.
Yes, folks, you heard me literally look up the year because I got confused.
You can rewind it and listen to me get confused.
So it was a 2025 calendar.
They returned it and Amazon sent a 2026 calendar instead.
And this calendar is just so funny because the facts that it chooses to highlight are rarely interesting, but I feel so much love for my son every day.
Today’s fact for Thursday, January 29th, at 25 and a half points per game, the 11 win Eagles ranked number seven in the NFL in scoring in 2023.
Well, that is a fact.
There is a small percentage of the trivia that I can answer and then most of it I cannot.
Tomorrow’s trivia is this one.
What Eagles player earned first team all pro honors from the Associated Press in 2023?
I’ll tell you the answer in one second.
Jason Kelsey.
Did you know?
I bet you didn’t.
Anyway, the calendar cracks me up.
So I’m trying to keep my pipes warm.
I’m trying to share great NFL trivia and facts with everyone.
And I will admit this.
I’ve been playing a decent amount of Crossplay, the new Scrabble ripoff from the New York Times.
I think they did a nice job with that app.
It has some bugs when it comes to playing against friends or finding those friends, but pretty good.
Pretty good interface, I thought.
Anyway, that’s all I got.
Happy Thursday, January 29th.
Stay warm out there.
Unless you’re in a place that is already warm, in which case you suck.
Goodbye.
Lex.
