I ran my webinar today and it went pretty well.

Good attendance and I got some lovely feedback from people actually.

But there’s something very strange about talking into a void for more than an hour.

Really for like an hour and 15 minutes I’m just talking and I know who the attendees are but I can’t see them.

I can’t hear them.

Nobody can interact with anybody except I can talk.

So I don’t know if the jokes are landing or if the talk is landing.

I don’t know anything.

I’m just speaking into a void.

It’s reminiscent of a daily podcast I do sometimes. Your Daily Lex Anyway, it’s Passover and our Seder starts in mere minutes so I don’t have very long.

So I will give the following updates. One, it was funny to me to be mentioned on Daring Fireball today, the same day that Gruber mocked the state of New Jersey and the fact that you don’t have to pump your own gas here.

Which we think of as a perk except I never get gas.

You know, electric cars.

You get it.

But it was funny to me to have me and his New Jersey insults in the same post. And rehearsals have been going very well for Jagged Little Pill.

I was supposed to have a rehearsal tonight and I was like, hey, I can’t come tonight.

I still have to do the conflict.

And he was like, okay, well then don’t come tonight.

So that worked out well.

And there was one song that I was having some trouble with and I went to the music director and was like, it would really help me a ton if you could make a recording for me of what my part is.

And he’s like, no problem.

Which is of course exactly the right answer.

But I had been nervous about asking him because sometimes when you’re in a show, the music director will make individual tracks for everybody.

Like here’s where your vocal part is.

But this show has so many tracks.

It maps out like 14 different vocal lines or something.

He’s like, I can’t make 14 tracks for every song in the show because there’s a lot of music in the show.

I’ve been in shows where the soundtrack is like 58 minutes long, 50 minutes long.

This show’s soundtrack is more than like 80 minutes long.

So you get it.

It’s different.

It’s a lot.

But yeah, of course he didn’t mind making a one-off track for me.

I do have an insane part in that song.

Anyway, things are good.

And this weekend is when I get to play Sherlock Holmes without the script.

And I was going to start marketing that show more and tell people they should buy tickets.

I was going to tell my castmates in Jagged Little Pill, hey, you should check me out doing this thing.

But then I saw that it’s all sold out.

So I’m not going to bother promoting it.

Just going to do it.

Anyway, it’s going to be a short one today because it’s Passover time.

Got to eat the matzah and drink the wine.

You get it.

Or you don’t.

Happy Easter if you don’t get it.

Goodbye.

Lex.
