The weather in New Jersey has been odd.
It was like 80 plus degrees yesterday and 70 plus degrees today, and then it’ll be cooler for the next couple days.
I don’t think anybody’s ever interested in hearing you talk about the weather, but I’m telling you anyway, just because it’s affected my day.
I very frequently have this debate about do I want to go for a walk outside or do I want to walk on the treadmill.
On the treadmill I can go faster because the treadmill can force me to go four miles an hour.
Outside, I typically walk like a 17 to 18 minute mile.
If I’m with my wife and or kids, it’s typically a 20 minute mile.
But on that treadmill, I can say, hey, let’s set it to four miles an hour and just go so I can get more steps faster there.
But there are things that are more fun about walking outside.
I also love watching TV or movies while I’m walking.
But, you know, as Lauren and I discussed with Judge John Hodgman, there’s something to walking outside and getting somewhere, even though I always end up at home again.
Anyway, I didn’t get all my steps yet today, so I’m going to do some walking before I go to rehearsal this evening outside.
The walking will be outside, not the rehearsal, so I can get some extra steps and some fresh air.
Also, I’m working on a new Mac app and I currently have like six beta testers and this might end up being my most popular app.
We’ll see.
Factors beyond my control mean I probably can’t release it truly for a little bit.
But it seems like it’s going well and I’m having fun with it.
So that’s exciting.
And I think it has a really funny name.
So that’s good, too.
My calories keep increasing, which has been nice.
We’re trying to figure out exactly where my maintenance number is.
Then I’m going to get into a build phase where I’m working to build muscle and eating even more calories for a while.
And then I’ll do a final cut phase to get back to the weight I want to be at and then full time maintenance.
But I’ve been making more Instagram treats.
I’ve been blending cottage cheese into a yogurt like texture and then using it.
I’ve also been using Greek yogurt for the same purpose in all kinds of things.
Like I’ll bake little crisps out of cottage cheese.
I will make mousses and cakes and brownies in a cup.
I have peanut butter balls that are like peanut butter powder and applesauce.
Sometimes protein powder as well.
I don’t even know what part of the peanut butter the balls come from.
But I’m making all kinds of treats and that’s fun.
But because I’ve been looking at those on Instagram, my entire algorithm now is recipes involving protein.
Some of which are like, comment strong below and I’ll send you the recipe.
Like no, I will never do that.
But if they include the recipe in the post, then I’ll screenshot it and tell Claude on my Mac to turn that into a note with the recipe.
Which works great.
But yeah, yesterday I ended up not having rehearsal, which was exciting.
Although I enjoy going to rehearsal.
It’s also fun to have time back and not have to go to rehearsal.
It meant that I got to do a nice drive to pick up Sierra.
And I don’t mind picking up my kids even when it’s a little far, which their school is.
Because that drive home is bonding time.
So that was good.
Got to bond with Sierra, who took her first AP exam today and thought it went well.
We’ll find out soon.
Also, Ani has like a 3.9 GPA in their first year of college.
So that’s exciting.
And yeah, things are just good.
Things are just good.
Can’t complain.
Hope it stays that way.
