In just a few minutes, I’m going to be a guest at a Mac user group meeting.

In fact, I don’t even know where geographically it is because I, of course, am doing it over Zoom.

I think the whole meeting might be over Zoom.

I don’t think that there’s a, what do you call it?

I don’t think that there’s an in-person version of it, but I could even be wrong about that.

I don’t know.

But I’m speaking at Cap Mac User Group, and it’s in Austin, Texas, I guess.

And I didn’t want to be too early, so here I am stalling by recording this episode of Your Daily Lex, which belongs to you.

That’s why it’s yours.

Your Daily Lex.

Sierra and I have been having a tradition recently of going on walks together.

She’s at school a long time.

She stays after school to do theater.

She tutors a kid.

Sometimes she does acapella, and it’s a whole thing.

But when she’s home, if the weather is acceptable, we go on a walk.

Today we went on the walk and it was plenty warm out.

In fact, we waited until it got cooler, but it was also pretty dark.

But man, I love these walks, and we didn’t really do this with this consistency until this year.

And I’m getting sad because it’s going to get colder, for one thing, and so she’s not going to want to do them.

And then two, because she’s going to go to college next year and then we really won’t do them.

But they’ve been really good bonding experiences.

Like, we’re really just talking about all the things, and I love it.

So I am preemptively sad that it won’t last forever.

Is that healthy?

Is that good?

Yeah.

What was a fun thing with this Mac user group that I’m speaking for is initially they asked me about it months ago on Mastodon, and I was like, sure, I’ll do that, and I put it on my calendar.

Then the date changed, which was fine.

And then as it got closer, they were like, you can talk about whatever you want.

And I was like, great.

And then as it got even closer, they sent me an email with what they had announced my topic as, and I was like, well, that wasn’t my topic.

But it’s fine.

I made it work.

I’m somewhat talking about your topic and somewhat talking about my topics.

What are those topics, you might ask?

It’s about Apple’s announcements from today, so about the new Apple Home stuff.

I’m talking about features that people should be taking advantage of in iOS and macOS 27.

And then I’m talking about apps I love that I use all the time.

Only some of them are my own apps, but hey, a baby’s got to do what a baby’s got to do.

So I’ve got that.

That’s today.

I have some other stuff happening tonight, even though I don’t have noises off all week until this weekend when the show resumes.

Tomorrow night I have a comedy sports thing.

That’ll be short.

That’ll be over Zoom as well, but a meeting.

Thursday I think we’re going to see some friends in the show Assassins, and I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Assassins.

I’m aware of the show.

I know the storyline, but I’ve never seen it, so that’ll be fun.

And then Friday, Saturday, Sunday, we’ve got our final four Noises Offs.

And then Sunday evening I’m going to a read-through for a film project that I was asked to be in as a vampire.

I don’t know a ton about it.

I mean, I’ve read the script, and I still don’t know a ton about it, but it’s fine.

It’s gonna be great.

Anyway, those are my updates.

I guess I’m going to jump onto the Zoom.

I’ll still be a few minutes early, but that’s how we do here in Lex Friedman territory.

Hope you had a great Tuesday, and more soon.

Lex.
